John Barnard A composer of many fine hymn tunes, including Guiting Power, as well as an arranger, choir director and organist, John Barnard is on the Council of the Hymn Society of Great Britain and Ireland and has helped to assemble collections such as Hymns for Today's Church, Carols for Today and Psalms for Today. He will introduce the RSCM photocopiable book Season by Season, containing attractive choral music for all the festivals, events and seasons of the church's year apart from Advent, Christmas and Epiphany (covered in The Carol Book [pdf].) Explaining the rationale behind this collection of 100 items, he will also, using a sampler booklet, give us the opportunity to sing or listen to a range of items from this publication. Copies will be available for sale to RSCM members at a heavily-discounted price of £60. COST £6 per person. Donations for the sumptuous tea will be requested.
